Jeremiah 10:2-5

2 Thus saith the Lord, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.
3 For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.
4 They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.
5 They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good.
Millions of people celebrate christmas, most of the "world citzens" do this during the "traditional" "christmas" at 24th and the 25th of December. The bible doesn't reveal His birthdate directly but certainly reveals in wich month Our Lord came to earth in His first advent. Before the calculations can start, certain things should be cleared up.
First of all the calendar used by God's people was a different one that is being used now. After God's people did leave Egypt, God told them that the month Abib would be the first month (Book of Exodus), the month Abib responds to the month April, wich means that the month April marks the beginning of the new year (makes you think twice about "April's foolsday doesn't it?).
The bible does show us the the angel Gabriel did visit Mary in "the sixth month". So far we know now that April is the first month and that the angel Gabriel did visit Mary in the 6th month wich would be September. Now, when God made the sun, the stars and the moon, He said that the moon was made for "a division of times".
The cyclus of the moon takes 28 days, wich means that according to the Old Testament calendar a woman would be pregnant for 10 months instead of 9. Why is that you may ask? Well let's count,the western calendar has 30 or 31 days in a month and the Old Testament calendar 28 days, so in comparison with the Old Testament calendar, the western calendar is 2 or 3 days longer.
Over a period of 9 months there is a extra month (9 X 30 or 31 days is about equal to 10 X 28 days )so if we now count 10 months from the month in wich the angel Gabriel did visit Mary (it was from that moment trough faith in God that she did concieve trough the Holy Spirit) then we end up in the month July ! All praises to Jehoviah our God and King trough Whom all things are possible.
